H1 and different port of entry

Hello everybody,

My friend is working in US (California) since last 4 years on H1. He travelled in and out of US few times from CA.

For some personal reasons, he has to travel to India from New York as he has to escort his mother back home.

I have few questions

1. Will it be problem if he enters at Newark POE even though his work location is CA?

2. If leaves from Newark and enters back from CA (LA or San Fran), will the I-94 information be updated. I mean the I-94 would have been detached at Newark. When he enters from CA, would the information be updated?

NO PROBLEM AT ALL. HE CAN ENTER AT ANY PORT OF ENTRY.

2. If leaves from Newark and enters back from CA (LA or San Fran), will the I-94 information be updated. I mean the I-94 would have been detached at Newark. When he enters from CA, would the information be updated?
HE WILL GET A NEW I-94 AT THE PORT OF ENTRY. THERE IS NO DIRECT LINK BETWEEN THE TWO I-94'S, OLD AND NEW
