H1 after traveling on AP

Gurus, need advise!!
I had earlier used AP to reenter United States as my H1 had expired and H1 extension was in progress. Now I have got my H1 extended. Couple of questions:
(i) Any issues in using H1 to reenter US?
(ii) Any issues with getting married and getting spouse on H4 (considering I already traveled on AP before)?

Thanks!!!

No, you probably won't. Considering that you have lost your H-1B status, you will have to obtain a new visa stamp in the passport in a consulate abroad. Preferably, in your home country, however, Canada and Mexico may still be viable options. AFAIR, you can not send your passport to DOS to get a new stamp because you have to be in the same status the stamp is for.

Having said that, you should understand that a visa in a passport is not a guarantee of a successful entry. An immigration officer at POE will ultimately decide whether admit you in the status you are seeking or not.

No, there supposed to be no issues. In order to bring your future spouse in the country on H-4, however, you must be in H-1B status.
