H1 7th yr + changing jobs..

I am in the 7th yr of my H1. My current employer has gotten it extended to the 7th yr (They applied for it on basis of AC21, which helped me join them).

They applied for an amendment because it was meant to be 3 yr extension, and not 1 yr. The amendment was approved but the visa I have on my passport, and my wife's passport has 1 yr stamps.

My question is if I get my H1 transfered in such a situation, I am hoping that it would be for 3 yrs since the underlying h1 is for 3 years? Do you guys see any possible glitches?

When was the amendment applied, before the USCIS had approved 1 yre. extension or after approval?

transfer, 3 yr starts from scratch??

They applied for the amendment after the 1 yr was approved. I have the 3yr extension(valid till 2009) and I am moving to a new company.

The new company lawyer said that he'll apply for a fresh 3 year extension. I found it weird since I was expecting only a transfer of the remainder of the 3 yr extended period..

Thoughts??
