Hi Sir: I am on H1B and have an approved perm and I finished my 6years on Feb 04. I don't have an I-140 filed as my client released me from the project and employer filed my perm with niche skill set. He advised me to find a job with the same skill set to be able to continue I-140. I tried for 2 months and was unsuccessful. My Current employer filed an H1B extension for 7th year based on pending perm and extension outcome is pending. Few people advised to COS to F1 to join Day1 CPT to retain status. However, I am not sure if that is a pathway for me considering that my H1B already expired.
1. Can I join Day 1 CPT , considering my employer can revoke my H1B anytime? I am not sure how much time it takes to change the status from H1B to F1(COS).
2. Am I be eligible for H1B lottery for the same year (2025) or should I have to wait till 2026 to apply for H1B lottery?
3. CPT allows us to work full time for 12 months. Considering that I am NOT eligible fo rlottery this year , so, I end up with only ONE chance to secure a H1B again?

Appreciate your inputs here.

Thank you
