H-4 visa question Urgent Help Required

HI,

I have an appontment in Delhi consulate for H1 and H4 (wife) visa on 19th Oct.
I have a question.
My wife has a different signature on Passport and On Marriage Certificate. Actually the Passport was made before the marriage and she used to write the surname in the signature. So the Passport has the signature with her surname and on the marriage certificate she has to change the signature as her surname is changed.

Is this going to be a problem at the consulate ? Pleae reply ...

I believe you can get your passport updated with her new name and signature. I have a question. How long did you wait for the interview date of Oct 19? I need a date in Nov. 21. Can I still get it? Thanks a lot.

The passport is updated with the new name but not with the new signature. There is no option by which I can get the signature updated in the passport.

I took the appointment arnd 3 months back.
I think with the new system in place you can try your luck to get the Nov 21 date or else try WaitList appointment . you will probably get it.

it won't be a problem. just ask your wife to sign the same signature in all the docs which you guys are taking for the interview. all the best.
even i have different signature on the passport, after that i changed and following the different signaturte in everything.

reg h4 & h1 query

Hi,

Request your valuable inputs regarding the query i am having in the below ,

Mine is a fresh h1B and it got approved recently(sep 1st,2005).
Presently my employer is having my h1 approved papers with him.

I am in usa on b1/b2 visa for 3 months.(aug - oct ,2005)

I contacted my employer about changing the status

Can i change the status from b1 to h1 , He said that you have to go to india and get the stamping done there and come back.

I also asked him to mention about my spouse, children in the offer letter so that i can take my spouse, kid to consulate when i will be going for h1 visa interview.

a) Is that offer letter only required to mention about my dependants name (spouse & kid) ., or any other documents are also required to mention the names..please list those documents if any body has gone through the same process what i am currently going thru.

b)I Will be returning to india by october 25th,2005 since my i-94 is expiring on that day. after that i need to apply for h1b visa appoint along for my spouse , kid.

and then in that case my passport shld als be updated to have my spouse name & my kid's name.

if so , i need to apply for a passport first ,get that pp and

then only i can book the appointment for 3 members.(one for my h1b, h4 for my spouse & kid).

1) what are all the documents needed for h1b visa before going to the chennai consulate for an interview.

2) what are all the documents required for h4 visa for my spouse & kid before going to chennai cosulate for an interview.,

I am planning to book an appoint in feb,2005 for h1 & h4 ,

on the same day since i can take my spouse & kid along with me to the consulate for the interview.

4)One more query is .. Coming to web appointment

1)I need to fill h1b appointment thru online and
there it asks for number of applicants..(i can mention 3 ... myself,spouse & kid).

now question is - i will fill my details for h1 ,

where should i fill my spouse details for h4 visa and the same for my kid ?

and also in my passport, my wife,kid's name entries are not there. IS it compulsory that these thing shld be present in passport before going for h4 interview & h1.

To change that status you will have to go back to India and get a new stamp.

You just need offer letter for yourself. For your wife you will need marriage certificate and your kid (and for both of you too) birth certificate.

Good to have but not necessary. (I did not have). No need to include Kid's name in passport. Kid SHOULD have her/his own passport.1)

Marriage certificate and birth certificate for sure. Check the website for any additional documents.

You should go together on the same day. It's easier and better.

No need to change the signature in passport. Just prepare an affidavit for name change. You can always explain if they ask. They all are human.
