H-1B Transfer in process, can I go to India?

I am going back to my old employer who revoked the previous H-1. They are filing new H-1 (transfer) under Premium Processing. Say it gets approved by first week of January, and I have only worked for two weeks with them till the middle of January. If I go to India with only one pay-stub from them and an approval notice, can there be a problem, since most of my recent pay-stubs will be from my current employer?

If my approval does not come before I leave for India (in middle of January), can they mail me an approval notice to go to the Consulate?
