Guys,

My first 3 years of H-1B expires on Dec 2004, last year my visit to India I did get my visa stamp without any problems.

I'm planning to apply for extension for next 3 years. Couple of questions:

1 - My understanding is since I had H-1B prior I wont have problems with H-1B cap, correct?
2 - *IF* I get my H-1B approved, can I get my passport stamped here in US or do I have to visit India for stamping?
3 - If stamping can be done from here can someone please give me details/procedure on how-to.
4 - Also what is the general time frame for stamping from US?

Thanks.

P.S. I forgot but there was a website which listed nicely all the documents needed prior to get the stamping from home country. Can you someone please also post that.

if you have all of your paystubbs, and there is no difference between LCA and W2, and company which petetioned you, is good then u might not face problem. The difficult aspect is to say whose petetioned will be taken for adminstrative processing, if once taken for adminstrative processing, visa may not be denied if you have all the document, but i could be delayed on account of administative processing.

yes, that can be done from here, as long as you are not changing the status, visa can be revalidated from here
check the website , u will get all the information

4 - Also what is the general time frame for stamping from US?

3 to 4 months, from the date of sending your documents,
if you have the time, prefer revalidating the papers in USA itself

all the best
