Hi gurus,

Can you please tell me what form and supporting document I need to provide to INS in order to renew my H-1B at the end of 3 year employment?

INS screwed up my EAD renewal - the new EAC card was supposed to be valid from 12/xx/02-12/xx/03, but they had it valid from 12/xx/03-12/xx/04. If I don't renew my H-1B, I will have a status gap.

EAD does not have anything to do with a 'status gap'. As long as you have filed I-485 you remain in status.

However, you will not be allowed to work with remuneration if you don't have a valid H1B or EAD. Extending H1B with Premium Processing may be a good alternative (that also works as a backup if your I-485 gets denied). You can read the requirements when you download the form from the INS web site.

Have you tried bringing your new EAD to a local INS? Explain to them that there's been a mistake from INS with regard to the new dates on your EAD. THey'll probably give you a corrected EAD ... I don't know, but it's worth trying..

Local INS office doesn't handle approved EAD case

Per the VSC immigration officer, local office only handle pending case but not approved case. My EAD application is considered approved, but with wrong valid dates.

I certainly want to have continuous employment record. Can anyone tell me what forms and supporting documents I need to prepare to extend my H-1B?

you cannot extend your own H1...

Your employer has to do it ! Anyway The form is I-129..
Ask your company to file for a H1 with Premium processing(If its urgent) you will have to cough up an extra $1000
 
How long does it take to extend it without the premium service?

Do you know how long it's taking VSC to process H-1 extension now without premium service?
