H-1 to F-1

I am in a complicated situation.
My 6-year H-1 visa expires in July 2003.
And I lost my job recently and I was about to go back to India. But now, I got admission in a top MBA school in US.
My Green Card process is upto no good.

My concern is this-
When I get out of MBA school after 2 years on F-1, would I be able to get a new H-1? (I would not have had satisfied the criterion of staying outside the country for a year)

Is extension of my current H-1 possible at the end of my MBA program? (I have worked outside the country for over 14 months during these six years).

Please help.
Thanks
S.

If you can prove that you were not in the US for 14 months, then a 14 month extension of H-1B is possible.

Can you get a new H-1B after completing your "B" school? The answer is NO. Technically you should be out of the US for 1 year before you are eligible for another 6 years of H-1B.
