Hi, I am from Iran and on H-1 right now. I was on F-1 then OPT then on H-1. I have been with same employer for last two years who filed my H-1.
Now I am wondering about security clearnce. When I applied fo my F-1 in 2002 then it tooks 4+ months to get clearance. Not sure my company would like to wait for such long. Few of my friends have got clearance from 1 day to 3weeks but I do not want to take any risk.
Is there any way I could apply online for visa and ask US consulate in canada to start my security clearance and once they get it then I could go in person and get H-1 stamp.
Please advice me what would be the best ay for me to get this process as smooth as possible.
