H-1 extension in Chennai - info needed

Hi all, My H-1 visa has expired on June 2001, but my I-94 (and the H-1 related paperwork) is valid until May 2003. I am going to India (Chennai) this month and I would like to get my visa renewed over there. Can someone tell me what the new procedures are, the documentation required and the format of the employer\'s letter for the same?
