H-1 6 yr. expired, have 3 yrs extension, traveling outside US

Hello!

Would really appreciate if someone can advice.

1. My PERM LC and I-140 was approved (EB2) category through Company A.

2. I had gotten 3 years extension on H-1b through company A.

3. Then I joined company B. Got H-1b transfered through company B. My original H1b 6 years limit was over in Dec 2006. I got H-1 through company B in Nov 2006 which is valid until Dec 2009.

4. The visa stamp on my passport has expired. So when I travel outside USA, I will have to go for visa stamping. My new company is working towards filing for new LC and then I-140. But have not filed yet.

5. So the question is(finally! :) is it safe to take vacation outside USA and go for visa stamping? Are there any chances that I may not get stamping on passport and so may not be able to return? Should I wait until my LC and I-140 gets approved through company B?

Thanks,
Sanya
