Guys, need your opinion.
I485 filed at CSC on 04/29/01.
180 days is up next week.
Company laid me off, last day on
pay roll is 11/10/01. I did my FP
I have a job lined up out of California
which is quite similar to my current one,
but you never know whether the INS will understand
this. Also the job starts in early Jan 2002.
Should I:
a) Tell the INS I changed job. Lawyer wants
to tell on 11/13/01. She says recently people
in my company have been called for interviews
so they want to play it safe. I understand the point,
but in my bones this feels the wrong thing to do.
b) Inform the INS of change of address.
I want to do this as late as possible
say Jan 2002.
c) Join new company on H1 transfer or EAD?
First I thought H1 but then thought this may
given the INS an idea I changed jobs. But EAD
is risky incase application gets denied.
d) If I get the Green card after 11/10/01
and before Jan 2002 (this is most likely
situation), can they take it back from me?
e) Also, if we inform the INS, chances are they
won\'t open the mail for a few months, and there is
good chance the petition will be approved by
then. Will they then re-open the case?
Thanks,
Bongo
