Guys pls help. what to do if passport is lost

My I140 Is pending at CSC (No 485).
i HAD SENT MY passports along with original renewed I94's to my company so that they could send it for visa revalidation. It has been a week that i sent them my priority mail with signature confirmation. They havent been received.

In case they are lost pls let me know what i need to do .I understand that I can get new passports but will something need to be changed on my pending i140 or any other thing.
 
I would go to the post office were the post was mailed and would start a "request for tracking".

And I have always used the courier services like (Fedex, UPS, Airborne) for sending my originals.
