My H1 is expiring in end of march and I am not sure whether I will get my
extension by then.I am planing to visit India some time in march and
return most posibly in April.I am planing to apply for advance parole and use the same if I dont get my H1 extension by then.
Please let me know whether my H1 becomes invalid if I use Advance Parole
for travel. If H1 becomes invalid is it possible to get back to H1 status once I get my H1 approved.I am planing to get married while in India and I need to be in H1 status to get my spouse on H4.
 Please let me know what are my options.

Use of Advance Parole does not invalidates your H1. I also had the same thought as you have but spoke to my lawyer he cleared all the doubts. Usage Of EAD invalidates your H1.
Since you are planning to get married while in India ,you need to have you H1 extension along with you so that your wife can get H4 .

I think you should wait for your H1 extension to get thru and the go to for your vacation .

EAD and AP

Please keep in mind that if you are going to use AP to enter US, then you also need to have EAD. Once you enter on AP, you will have no choice but to use EAD for work as EAD and AP go hand in hand. YOu cannot enter the US without EAD if you have AP. Else you will need H1 visa.
I was in the same boat, and used AP and EAD.

I agree with you but I am wondering whether you can switch back to h1 otherwise you will be out of status IF your 485 is rejected.Any idea?
