Gurus - Have a question regarding employment section.
I had to be out of the US on 1 trip for 5 months. My dad passed away unfortunately. As a result I had to take over family business and hire a person to run it long term. But I was doing lots of other stuff like wills, taking care of family issues - as a normal person can imagine....
During that time I had a reentry permit + I had a US company registered and was paying taxes on this company.
So I am not sure what to put in the employment section - but I am inclined to only put the US company. The US company is a seperate entity but it does services for the overseas company. I can say that the US company sent me overseas and I was not really employed overseas but wrapping up family issues abroad. Obviously if asked for details I will have to say the truth - but at the same time I am not jumpy to say anything.
So I would put employment as US company - and if asked what I was doing abroad I will just say wrapping up family issues. Both statements are true. Then if somebody asks for more details - I can say about death in the family, taking care of family business while considering myself working for US company etc.
Does anybody see any issues? I just don't trust those people at INS.
Also after I get US citizenship it is likely I will go to work on the overseas business for a while. But right now I will be 10 months continuous (not even a day break) in the US.
