Folks,
I understand that we have a couple of options to prove proficiency in English -
1) Take the test (IELTS)
2) Provide substitutive evidence

I am going with option 2. Have submitted the following -
1) A letter summarising my training in English
2) Transcripts (kindergarten through graduate school)
3) Letter from my US employer explaining how my work duties warrant a good hangle of the English language

Is there anything else I ought to provide. I understand that taking the test is obviously the safest option. But given that I have a) lived in the US for sometime now (5 years) and b) done all my education in English, should I be ok?

merci beaucoup :)

I hope this will work but u know your question is hard to reply as there is not a single approval so far under the new rules. Until they start approving similar cases as yours, nobody knows what they will be looking at.

One can only be sure if many like urs started getting approval without any language proficiency certificates.

So do ur best and keep an eye on will be approved cases. If needed, pass the exam and send them the language proficiency certificate latter.

Any other suggestion folks..........
