MY company's HR called CSC and found out that both my 140 and 485 are waiting for the information from overseas. Could you please let me know what kind of information they are looking for ? What can I do to facilitate this?

Appreciate your help!!

If I am right, because one of my friend is also in the same stage, means ur case is gone to additional system checks, it may take time for sure

What kind of information

Thanks for your reply!

Can I do anything at this stage? What kind of system check they are doing?

Really depressing !

Why is 140 waiting for information from overseas?? 140 is just the company's petition, not yours. That makes little sense. If they're awaiting background checks from overseas, then they should approve your 140 and then wait on your 485 (especially now that they say they're no longer doing concurrent-approval). BTW, are you from one of the Special Reg. countries, or do you have a common name?

Don't know why

I am from China and My name is a common one, which may cause a little bit trouble. I got a ref. in Nov on my 140 for my W-2 and previous employment letters.

No one could figure out how those CIS officers are doing their jobs. Endless waiting ...

Is this more related with criminal or backgroud check in the home country? Which agency CIS will contact?

Could happen if this is a substitute labor, already used for 140 once before. Process could have been abandoned before 485 adjudicated. Also previous user might have opted for CP causing the original LC approval to be overseas.

I am pretty sure it is not a substitute labor, so there is no issue that someone might used this before. I will shoot an email to my attorney for the explaination.

Hardrock,

Is your experience letter written by someone in China? Or is it from your previous employer in the US?

I am guessing they are checking the authentity of the experience letter.
Is it possible that they are trying to contact your former employer in China?
