My lawyer says that I485 can be filed only in the service centre where your residence is. We are under the impression that it can be filed from the service centre where your employer is also ??
 
Your lawyer is wrong

I live in Louisiana (which comes under TSC), but since my company is in California, my lawyer filed my 485 in CSC. I know a lot of people who have done this without any problems whatsoever.
 
Your attorney\'s knowledge is a bit outdated

You used to be required to file at the service center with jurisdiction over your residence but INS changed this within the past year or so to permit filing at the service center that approved the I-140. This would be the service center with jurisdiction over the intended work location.
