Gurus, name check, FP2, etc. ?

My I-485 case has been filed 2.5 years back. I did get the standard RFE for W-2s and salary slips in sept 2003 and replied in october 2004. However I never got any FP2 or name check or anything ? Is there anything I can do pro-actively for scheduling FP2/name check? Calling 800-375-5283 does not help at all, since I end up getting the standard response of lack of resources and backed up. I did manage to initiate a status inqury, but the response letter also came back with the same answer. Contacting congressman has not helped, either.

Any suggestions on FP2/name check are very welcome.

I faxed an inquiry regarding a name check to the FBI. Unfortunately, I don't remember the fax number and the text and stuff off the top of my head, but you should be able to find it in this forum. In a month I got an email back from them saying that the check was completed (and the completion date was close to that date, so I believe the fax actually helped). Try it. If your name check is completed, you can contact congresman again saying that USCIS have everything set to complete your case.
