Gurus, Help... Will EAD application trigger RFE on 485?

Hi Gurus,

I need your advice on my EAD application. I applied the I-485 for me and my husband late last Dec with WAC-02-073, but didn't apply for EAD and AP at that time since company didn't sponsor.

Currently there are some rumors about lay off in my company. I am thinking of applying EAD for both of us now, but I am worried if the EAD application may trigger an Employment Verification RFE on our I-485 applications. It gave me the impression that INS is issuing more RFEs for Employment Verification these days. I am not sure if this is true. May be I am just too nervous. Do you think it's a good idea to apply EAD now?

apply for EAD first

I feel that you should apply for EAD ASAP...even before worrying
about the RFE. Incase you get cut by your current employer,
you will have the EAD and can apply AC21 to your case. If you
do not have an EAD it will be difficult to find other employer to sponsor your H1 and will have to wait for for you EAD
approval.....and hence loose your ability to take advantage of
AC21. Once you find a job you can always respond to the RFE.
 
In my openion applying for EAD won't trigger RFE! As garu1gsr suggested apply for EAD asap.

Applying for EAD does not mean you do not have
job or you are going to lose your job. So in my opninon it is unlikely that it would trigger an RFE

Thanks a lot for your advices.

I'll send out the application ASAP. I hope that INS won't waste too much time investigating this case :), and I can hold on till January, and hopefully get the approval by that time.

Just one more thing to confirm that the Blue Signature Card is no longer required in the EAD application, is that correct?

Even if you did get an RFE, even then with EAD and new job, you'd be able to reply to it satisfactorily, so apply for it.

Blue card from what I understand is no longer required. But INS keeps changing rules at it's whim, so I say, sign it and send it with the app lest your EAD gets delayed.
