I got my I-485 approval recently. Cards not yet received.
I am relocating in a week. Should I hold this Apt for another
month, till I get the card or can I inform IIO regarding change
in address?

Replies appreciated.

PG.

hold...

According to rules, you can inform INS in change of address and file AR11.
But frankly speaking, as you know about the delays in address change.. get ur green card while u r at ur old address and move out.

This is just my suggestion.

I kind of agree with skn2k. Now that you have waited for GC approval for so much time, another few weeks should not really be a big deal to you for the sake of GC-plastic card. Anyway, I hope you get your plastic cards before your planned move-out.

Patientguy...

Did you go for Passport stamping?

If yes...

Wait till you get your cards.

If you did not...

It seems when you go for stamping you have to fill up a form for the CARDS. During that time you can specify the new address.

The Cards will be mailed to your new address. ( But the catch is you have to choose a apartment and get the new address ).

Here is waht couple of my friends have did...

1> Once they get the approval they go for Apartment hunting.
2> They take sweet time to choose a good one.
3> They give a date of move in with the new apartment manager
4> They give a notice to the Old apartment manager
5> Once done they go for stamping
6> Here they give in the new address.

Good Luck!

I agree you alwyas have a safe option of giving new address at the time of stamping .However if you have already done the stamping wait till cards arrive
