Guidelines for Letters of Recommendation

I am trying to generate a list of points that should be addressed in a letter of recommendation submitted along with an EB1-EA petition for a scientist:

- Describe research, its mission/purpose and potential application

- Describe value of research to the international scientific community, stress significance of original scientific contribution

- Describe applicant's publication record

- Describe significance of publication to the scientific community

- Criteria for publication being accepted in journal

- Stress prestige of journal within scientific community, international circulation

I would welcome any further suggestions. We could create guidelines that are helpful for many more people on this board.
