Dear Friends.

I am in final stages of filiing for GC appln through university for Schedule A categorey which is open currently and has option of concurrent filing still available.

Let me give some background of my present status. I and my family entered in US on student/dependent (F-1, F-2) visa, Our F-1/F-2 visa stamp on Passport Expired in January 2006. I worked on OPT from August to March at University and My and my Families H-1 (H-4) applications were approved in 03/06. So I am currently on H-1 from March-2006 and My Family is on H-4. WE HAVENT YET STAMPED H-1 (H-4) VISA ON THE PASSPORT.

I have these questions in regards to I-485 filing

(1) After Filing I-485 can I go to out of country (Canada or Mexico) and get H-1B (H-4) stamped on the Passport (Without making use of ADVANCE PAROLE)? or I have to do that BEFORE I FILE FOR I-485?

(2) Is there any time limit for filing I-485 ( concurrently with I-140) (assuming Shedule A categorey is open) after filing I-140 ? or we can file I-485 any time (for Concurrent filing) after filing I-140 as long as that categorey is open?

(3) What happen to I-485 if I-140 get disapproved? Can we use same I-1485 (filed with earlier I-140) to link it to NEW I-140 filed on other basis say NIW ? or we have to file new I-1485?

(4) If we apply for AP and EAD do we have to use them or we can choose not to do so and just work and travel based on H-1/H-4( assuming they are stamped on the passport), inspite of having AP and EAD approved and available in hand to use?

(5) which Place in Canda or Mexico may be best to Go for quick and easy stamping of H-1/H-4, if I need to do that beofre filing for I-485?

your insight and answers will help me a lot.

Thanks
