GreenCard with misdemeanor

Greetings All:
I've had my greencard for 5.5 years. One and a 1/2 year ago I got convicted for a misdemeanor of fraud (crime of moral terpetude!). I had one year general probation, then got it expunged one year later. Would it affect my application for citizenship? And if I got denied what would happen?
Thanks a lot for any information
David

Likely to be denied due to lack of GMC. What was the max possible sentence for this CIMT? If it is under 1 year, wait for clean 5 or 3 (married to USC) years before applying.

Yes it affects your eligibility for naturalization, and possibly even your continued presence in the US. Crimes of moral turpitude can have a negative impact to continued LPR (think "removal proceedings") especially if they happened recently and USCIS hasn't found out about it yet.

Now I'm not saying you will definitely get deported, but there are risks associated with applying for N-400, so I strongly urge you to seek professional advice from a good immigration lawyer.
