GreenCard arrived - residence predated

I received my green card today in the mail. I applied 3/30/06 and was finally approved after name check pending on 9/11/06. But on my green card it says I have been a resident since 3/30/06 and the card expires two years from that date -3/30/08. So it looks like I can apply for citizenship earlier and that I'll have to apply to remove conditions in 1 year 3 months.
Has anyone else has this happened to them??

I saw you got your greencard from Santa Ana, can you do me a favor and check the envelope if it says Do not forward or return service required? I'm waiting for mine from Santa Ana too and I'm scared that it won't get forwarded.

To answer your question, my lawyer said you can apply for citizenship 3 yrs after becoming a permanent resident

The envelope is blank. It doesn't say who it is from and it doesn't say forward or return service required. It is like the one you receive new credit cards in.

My lawyer told me to go see the DO and tell them about their mistake. He said it might cause problems later. I'm going to get a second opinion.

thanks for the reply. i hope my greencard gets forwarded to my new address then.... if you don't have a lawyer i can refer you to one. he's based in Irvine.

In my opinion, your lawyer is right. The letter with GC says that if you find any information wronge please call or see or something.
It might create a problem when you will go for your Citizenship because it is your responsibility to report to USCIS for anty mistake. It is better to be safe than sorry.
