The processing times of permanent residency applications
is being lengthed to a point of being indefinite! Will our applications ever be approved???

This issue needs to be publicized in the media. We have our rights in this country. Let's organize a mass boycott until justice is done.

Hey .. I think it's better than BCIS returning the applications and kicking us out of the country!

In a way .. they should be grateful to us, because we support them by renewing EADs, APs and what have you .. ;)

Even though I hate BCIS, I know the ultimate curdle is not BCIS
it's the goverment not allocating necessary money and resource to them. BCIS doesn't have enough man power and incentive to work speedily.

I agree with you .. these poor people in BCIS don't get enough money, training and resources they need to do the job. Add that with the ever-changing policy from the upper management/law makers ..

BCIS don't want the black pot on them. They want outside world praise their work too. I think they are fighting for more funds and resources. They probably will use our petition as a tool to persuade the government. But we all know it's impossible at this time, country deficit is at all time high, 1 billion dollars wasted each week at Iraq. Actually, let's do a calculation,

if an officer is paid 30k a year, let's say add 50 more officers,
how much is it? 1 million dollars? That's shrimp money compare to 1 billion a week.

You think BCIS works for you, and you can claim your rights!? You are really naive!

I have been thinking about this for a while and finally decided to vent out my two cents worth too. Every one says that BCIS is not doing its job for various reasons resources, funding, training and so and so on. And we also say our rights are misused. As one of the people waiting for my GC approval, I agree with all these allegations.

But the bottom line is what is important for this government. They don't want immigrants, period. Moreover look at the hubbub about H1b visas now. Just because they have money, they are playing all these games. So the government pays attention to what it thinks important (i.e. Iraq, middle east and not moving jobs (call center) in NJ to overseas). Someday this is going to haunt them again.

Unless there is a concerted effort, nothing is going to happen to us besides worsening conditions for immigrants. The good sign on this forum is a couple people are trying to do something (dsatish et al).
Like one of the posters suggested a lawyer should take up the case and I am sure all of us will be willing to contribute for this just cause.

Completely agree with durvasudu.
Times have changed and the gov knows that we people aren't much needed here. Jobs are being outsourced and there are already enough skilled GC holders and citizens without jobs.
Couple of days back IBM announced that they have to speed up the process of outsourcing to India and they plan to have all IT related jobs done overseas within the next 12 years.

Hence it could also be a gov policy to slow down the process of giving GCs.
There is clearly an anti-immigration sentiment brewing in the country and one simply cannot accept that GC processing times are going to improve in the near future.
