I am out of states because of a job relocation and I am paying taxes in states also

I am wondering that if I have to stay more what should i do and also let suppose if i come back and than travel back and forth would it hurt me to get citizen ship

Thanks

Based on what little information you provided, you will be not eligible to apply for naturalization anytime soon. I believe that you may be able to apply for another re-entry permit and you should definitely do so if you are planning on extending your stay outside the US.

Traveling back to the US for a short stay every 5-6 months in an attempt to keep your green card alive does not work. A re-entry permit is your best bet, although you are not guaranteed re-admission to the US even with that document. But without it, BCIS might very well revoke your green card if they see a travel pattern like that and believe that you have abandoned your residency.

After you return to live in the US permanently, you can apply for your citizenship 4 years and 1 day from the day you arrive in this country, assuming you meet the other requirements.
