green card, when i can apply for citizenship?

My freind just got her green card ,it was through asylum.
When can she apply for citizenship now?
Five years from the date she got her green card and how long it will take to become citizen?

If I marry a green card holder and I have asylum case pending and I am in the US, Will I become legal and get green card also?

Your friend is eligable to send application for citizenship in 4 years and 9 months after the date on her GC. You will be legally in the country if u marry GC holder and are eligable to file I-130, however the waiting period for such applications is almost 6 years.

Forgot to mention that if your asylum is denied and you get married after the whole situation is not really in your favor.
