green card validity

Hi,

this is an unusual question...not sure if anyone here has experience regarding this situation.Here goes-

Im currently waiting for my 140 after having filed for my 1-140/485 concurrently.Me and my wife received our EADs.While I had applied for my wife's SSN, it came about that my wife had a SSN.It turns out that she had a green card through her father(issued to him in 1976).Subsequently, he left for India and did not pursue it's usage or validity.My wife was about 2-3 years old at that time.Where does she stand in terms of renewal? I'd need some answers fast as she is an applicant with me for the 140.

If your wife left US and did not return, she most likely lost her green card. She cannot claim her lost residency back now.
