Green card, US Citizenship and Canadian PR

Friends,

I have few questions about the combination of US Green Card, Citizenship and Canadian PR. If this is not the right place to post these questions, please excuse me and direct me to the correct forum.

The issue I have is, I want to get my mom abroad and live with me. US does not allow us to sponsor our parents untill we have citizenship. It may take me about 7 years to get US citizenship and further 3-5 years for me to get my mom here. I cannot plan for my old aged mom for after 10 years. Canada allows us to bring parents immediately after PR. So I want to take canadian PR now, get my mom in Canada but preserve my Green card for which I have taken lot of pain, if this is possible. Here are my specific questions:

1. My non-concurrent 140 is approved and 485 is in process, can I take Canadian PR by physically moving to Canada but continuing my job in USA. Will it invalidate my 485 application. If required I can even get a transfer to my current employer office in Canada.
2. After I get US Green Card, if I live in Canada and work in US, will I pass the continuous residence and total physical presence tests required for US citizenship.

Thanks for you help.

Dear LaborSubs,

I understand the feelings what u are going through and believe me u are not alone. you are a good person who love family and have dedicated life as we all do.

The Current issue you mention u might find some useful info, I am pasting here in last.

Here is some of my opinion for ur temp solution.

First of all if ur parents have visa that would be fine they can come to u and start living. I know that is not permanent solution. if not than ask them to apply for themselves and make any good reason to go there.

Usualy parents age ppl get 5yrs multiple visa.... so they came and go back on time procedure.

or after u get PR u frequently visit home. I know and understand that is difficult. and we all effected with system it work. I believe u understand how Labor system work here and we all a workforce.

Try to work hard set ur business/ good income that u can afford ur family and than call ur parents here. Honestly my personal believe is we get "Rizk" / money/income/happiness form other's luck. and if parents live with us than God will meke the way for you to earn more to support ur family. thats all I can say.

No dought Canada is good place and give u some facilities like medical and good place to grow ur family. I am not sure what is current economy advise for ppl living there but many shared that this is not what u think.

Life is not fare u we have to used to it. the best thing is work hard make enough money here, and stay on one boat (whatever u feel comfortable).

Good Luck to you and will pary for u
