Green card thru marriage

I will get married this dec 2008 from my girlfriend who is a us citizen and she is based in new york. I'm based here in los angeles.
After we get married, she will stay in n.y. & me here n l.a.. We will postpone to file for any immigration benefits like greencard because i'm not sure if i can get a job in n.y. Considering that millions of people have lost their jobs because of economic meltdown or recession. In short, she will still stay in NY. & i will stay in LA. And wait for the economy to get better. Probably after a year or 2, the economy will get better & that will be the time we will begin filing for adjustment of status & greencard. The simple reason is we want to hold on to our jobs (she in ny & me in l.a.) & avoid being me jobless in ny in case i relocate there in this recession times.

1) What are the possible problems that we may encounter in case we file immigration benefits after a year or 2. Will ins doubt our marriage?
2) Is it true that after 2 years, greencard is not conditional anymore?
3) Should my wife include me in her lease agreement & utilities now? (even im not living in ny)
4) Please advise us on what others things we should do so INS will not doubt our marriage - since we were apart for a year or 2.

thanks in advance
