Green card through marriage

I am a green card holder, but still have to wait 4 years for my citizenship! I want to get married to a person who is out of status, meaning he entered here with a vida, extended twice, and now it expired and he is still in here. I want to marry him so much. But I have no idea how the process for the green card for him will go, since he is out of status now. Also I am afraid that it will take tooooo long for the papers to come, i would like to know if there is anyway he can stay here with me while waiting for the green card.
thank you

I don`t think that is a great idea ....

If you are a gc HOLDER AND YOUR FIANCE IS OUT OF STATUS , IT WOULD NOT BE WISE TO APPLY FOR GREEN CARD FOR HIM SINCE HE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE THE PAPERS RIGHT AWAY . hOWEVER IF HE HAD SOME KIND OF PETITION THAT QUALIFIES HIM FOR THE lLIFE ACT BENEFITS HE STILL COULD TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT . SINCE YOU ARE A GC HOLDER IT WOULD BE VERY DIFFICULT FOR HIM TO ADJUST STATUS IN THE UNITED STATES . THE ONLY WAY FOR HIM TO DO SO WOULD BE TO WAIT FOR YOU TO BE A CITIZEN THEN APPLY FOR THE I-485 . yOU COULD ALWAYS FILL i-130 FOR HIM AS HIS WIFE BUT TRUST ME HE WONT BE ABLE TO WORK LEGALY NOR OBTAIN SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFIT FOR AT LIST FOUR YEARS . IF YOU BECOME US CITIZEN THIS BETTER FOR HIM . EVEN WHEN YOU FILE I-130 FOR HIM UNDER YOUR gc STATUS WONT PREVENT HIM TO BE DEPORTED WHILE LIVING IN THE UNITED STATES , BUT THE FILING OF THE I-485 WOULD GIVE HIM A LEGAL STATUS AND WON`T BE SUBJECT TO DEPORTATION .
