have my green card and now want to get married. Since it will take almost 5 years for my spouse to get a green card I am thinking of the following possibility:
Surrender my green card and go to India for a year to get married. Then after 1 year reapply for a green card as a returning resident (which has no quota limits) along with my wife. Has anybody done this or knows anything about this process? How long does a returning resident take to get green card and is his dependent allowed to apply with him? Any gotchas? Your help will be higlhy appreciated. Thanks.
