Green card still missing! Help

OK - Got approval of the 485 last September. After the letter came through I go to the local office – get the passport stamping etc. (early November)


Followed same procedure for spouse and eldest child.


Their cards arrive – mine didn’t.


Called the national centre

January – was told to wait
February – got very sensible person who took my details down and said they would generate an enquiry with Vermont – call back in a month if I heard nothing.

March – very rude person. Said they could do anything and that the person a month before was basically lying. Said my only hope was to write in.


HELP!!

Can I call Vermont and find out whats happened?
I have no idea if I got a welcome letter or not – but if my dependants did get the card – then why not me and how can I amend that. My passport if stamped so I’m fine for another 6 months but I’d like to get this resolved.

You can use the same 1-800-375-5283 line by following the steps at the prompts based on your situation to connect to VSC directly and can talk with IIO.

I called the same way to made an inquiry on Card status. The woman was polite and she can answer why they haven't issued your card yet.


Just FYI , i received my card after 15 days of my spouse card.

What is I-551 Alien Registration Card for? Is it the plastic Green Card or not?

My AP approval letter may be lost in delivery. It's already more than 40 days since it was mailed by VSC. Do you think I can use the Inquiry you mentioned to expedite the re-issue of a copy of AP approval?

(My I140 was approved. My I485/765/131 were filed Dec 2004. The latter two were approved in Feb 2005, but only EAD card reached me. The AP mail was lost, not returned to VSC. I also got FP notice recently, will go to FP anytime. BUT, how can I do with my AP approval mail? Do I have to refile it and wait for another two months? Any other possible ways? I am thiking of send an expedite fax to ask for reissue of AP. Will it work? Please help!
