Green card, re-entry permit and taxes

Hi,

I recently got my Green Card (DV Lottery) and entered the US for the first time on 5 November, 2005. However I am still living in UK and want to move to US later - so I applied for a re-entry permit when I travelled to US for the second time this month. I haven't received the actual card yet, however I have a Notice of Action and a stamp in my passport. Now I have to face the tax return - and I'm having a lot of difficulties with it. I understand I can declare my UK income as foreign tax credit on form 1116 - but does any of you know which main form to use? I also don't have a W2 as I have no US income. I don't want the tax issues to cause problems with maintaining the card (or delaying the actual card to be issued). And what is the tax situation when you're on a reentry permit? I'm very confused how to fill in the form, and the certified public accountant I contacted asks very high hourly rates I cannot afford at the moment...

Thank you for your help!
