Hi Folks,
Need a bit of advice. I am on GC and will be eligible to apply for citzenship in Feb 2003. I have applied for GC for my wife in June 2001. She is currently on an F1 and will eligible for PT in Jan. Can I apply for an EAD for her? What are the chances of her getting a GC sooner if i apply for her after getting my citizenship? Thx a ton for your help.

You need to become a USC for that.

when you get your citizenship you can send a request to the service center to change the priority date on that application to current. Which will expedite her I 130 / I 485 processing.

As a US citizen your wife will be an immediate relative and will be eligible to adjust without concern to a Priority Date. However, as a Permanent Resident, your wife will need to use the Priority Date established for an FB-2A category which is between 5 and 7 years.
