Hi,
I have a situation where my H-1 is expiring in a couple of months and I am in the middle of I-140 processing ( 3 months since I applied ). Assuming that I don\'t get my I-140 before my H-1 expires, I would like to know what is the best course of action for my case. Can I work for another employer outside the country while my Green card process is in place through my previous employer. What do I do to get my Green card process to be continued in the US ?
Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Here is a solution: Opt for consular processing in I-140. If you have already filed I-140, wait for approval and then have it directed to NVC instead of ifling I-485 (which you cannot do anyway as you will be out of the country.

I would recommend consulting a good attorney first.
