Green Card, Passport & SSN Stolen

Hi Everybody,

I really need big help from all of you. Last week we had a theft in our home and apart from other valuables, we lost all forms of ID (Green Card, current & expired Passport & SSN card, birth certificate, marriage certificate, mark sheets, college degrees) except our driving licences for all of us (myself, my wife and daughter). our I 485 approval notice also was in the same stuff. Fortunately we do have copy of green cards and passports. but we do not have the copy of I-485 approval.

We had travel plan to India in less than a month but looks like thats too much to ask for now. Please suggest the best way to get all the documents back.


I also have the following questions

1) City of Residence where you applied for an Immigration Visa or Adjustment of Status:
When we applied we were living in Plano Tx. Is that what we need to fill in.

2) Consulate where Immigration Visa was issued:
OR
USCIS Office where status was adjusted:

We were living in SFO but I 485 was initially filed in Texas. so not sure which one I should fill.
3) Date of Admission as an immigrant or Adjustment of Status:

I don't really know what this means but the copy of her old resident card says 'Resident Since' date so I assume that is the date. Is that correct?

4) If you entered the U.S. with an Immigrant Visa, also complete the following:
Do I need to fill this if so what ?

3) Yes that is correct, unless you have reason to believe the "resident since" date is in error (e.g. some people have reported receiving a card showing a "resident since" date that is several months or years before the approval occurred).
4) You filed I-485, so write N/A. Immigrant visa is for those who interviewed for their green card at a consulate outside the US.

Thank you for prompt response. Really appreciate it. One thing I wanted to ask is will it be better if I file it in person in SFO office rather than filing it online. Will they be able to provide more info or would it be easier to file online.

[tellAmit]-- I have no proof to verify if these dates are correct. I am pretty sure the date on my card is correct but for my wife's date I am not sure. as I don't even have the copy of I485 approval notive as well. I tried checking the status online the only thing it says is that the date the original card was mailed.

Don't forget to apply for a new Indian passport right away which can take several weeks in your case.
Once you get that, you need to go to get it stamped for LPR otherwise you won't be able to return to US.
 
Thank you guys. I have applied using efile for the I-90. I am also planning to go to indian consulate in SFO soon for the passport.
