Green card lottery with asylum

Hi everyone. Can I apply for green card lottery if I am waiting for my asylum interview? Is it going to effect asylum decision in a bad way?

No it will not, but in order for it to work when you win and want to adjust status, you should have been in status when you filed for asylum, if you were out of status or had anytime of unlawful stay you will not be able to adjust status
