Green Card Issuance

Hello,

I have my I-485 Approved and so for my husband also. But becoz of his health issues we have been out of the country for 1 and half years. It was an immediate action we had to take and the green card was approved only after 2 mnths we left. Now we would like to come back . We both have our 10 yr visiting visa to enter US. We would like to know how can we get our GC stamped. Is it possible to get it stamped now ? OR do we have to re-apply.
If we have jobs lined up already will it help to get the GC.

We are in India right now .Is there some thign we can do from here ? How do we go forward to get the aprroved GC stamped.

I assume it is employment based GC. You left two month before approval so now 1.3 year passed by after approval. I believe your GC is gone, since even green card holder leaving US for more than 6 month should get reentry permit. If not, he loses his GC. I do not think US will care what the reason was, you could always act earlier and get a re-entry permit. I am really sorry ... But I am not a lawyer either. You should check with US embassy in India, maybe they can help you out ...
If you have jobs you could apply for H1-B and start all over again in case US embassy will not help you obtaining the stamp...

I clarified this matter a bit... IT IS STILL POSSIBLE TO GET GREEN CARD for you. If you were absent more than 1 year without permit to Reentry, you have to:
Apply for SB visa at US embassy.
Prove your "Intent to immigrate" (very important, that you prove your intensions to live and work in USA)
Provide strong evidence, why you could not enter US earlier (medical issues).
The less you have been outside USA,the easier it will be to get your GC back. US EMBASSY is the key. Contact them ASAP.
