You might be the lucky one... is your PD current on the interview date? My wife & I (primary) had our interviews back in Jan. 2008, PD wasn't current. The IO said she couldn't approve because our PD wasn't current.

It's current in March, I went for an info pass, asked for the stamps on passport. IO reviewed our case, approved both on the spot... and got the stamps on passports too, good for 6 month. Still waiting for the cards to be sent in mail. :)

My experience: If PD is current on the interview day, do all you can to get the temp. PR. stamp on your passport, we told the IO we're going travel out of the country next month :). If PD is not current, after the interview, go for info pass the first thing when PD is current.

What is this interview? Is it INFOPASS?
If the PD becomes current and then scheduling an INFOPASS interview makes the approval of 485 right away? I didn't know but if that is the case, please let us know.

no.. some cases get sent to local office for interview... for whatever reasons. Some said to speed up the process so that not so many pending in one big center like NSC. Some said it get transferred to local office because of the DWI? or other violations... my case was because of recent marriage so that my gf. (now wife) could get on the boat. I used to think those got sent to local office were the unlucky ones because it meant more wait and more interview.... it turned out that local interview was really easy. Only 20 min top (my case). But if you have something to hide, better go in with a lawyer.

My experience is, when it got transferred to the local office, it is then up the local office to approve or deny. If you have nothing to hide, it should be approved right on the spot (PD is current), otherwise, after the interview, wait until the PD is current, go for infopass, do whatever you can to make them put a temp. PR stamp on the passport because when your PD is current, you can get them approve right the way. This is the only time you can decide when you get approval for you gc. That's why now I think for those get transferred to the local office could be the lucky ones (unless you have something to hide).

If you had the local interview before and PD is current now, don't wait the local office will review your file and approve, it could take many months (my lawyer asked me to wait 2 months, yeah right... i ain't that dumb.)

Thank You for your kind reply EB3May2004. Can you give me an overview of what kind of questions did they ask you? My PD is in Aug'03. I was under EB3 when I applied for my labor and changed to EB2 in recent months. Not sure under which catogery they are processing this.

You might want to consult with your lawyer. I'm guessing they just wanted to make sure you're still employed by your employer... so definitely need to bring an Employment Verification Letter from your employer who filed for your EB2. The rest of items should be listed on the interview notice. If you have spouse, bring some photos you both took together, some joint account billing statements to prove you two staying together...
