Hi All,

I have my green card interview in almost 2 weeks from now. The reason I am a bit worried is because I don't live with my wife right now cause I go to school in Maine while she lives in Arizona with her parents. We are planning to live in together when I gradaute in a couple of months. Our interview is in Tucson, AZ. Do you think this will be a problem? Any advices?

If you tell them that you don't live together they will probably ask you a lot of questions to make sure that this is bonafied marriage. Do you have any other proof? Bills in both names, Driver Licenses with same address, bank acct, joint credit cards, insurance, wedding pics, trips taken together-flight interenaries ETC.

We do have a joint bank account and credit card. My driver's license has my address here in Maine and it's different from her address in Airzona (cause we don't live together). We are both originally from the same country and I have known here for a long time. We even look alike! I hope everything will go smoothly.

basharaj,

I was exactly in your situation when I had my AOS interview.Me and my husband live in different states and all proof we had was our Joint bank account. And we told officer the truth and he understood our situation. But it is always better u have proof of more photos and other things if possible. Hope this helps

Do you have phones bills as proof that you're calling each other ? E-mails or letters ? Plane tickets, bus tickets or whatever that shows she came to see you or you went to see her ? Pictures ??

Yeah, I'm not living with my husband now since I'm not graduating till May and we never lived together (same school, diff dorm) but we figured that phone bills will show how we talk everyday and he has started to save receipts of when he comes to visit me and we have a bunch of pictures too. He came home with me three times so we figured that that will show in his passport so no need of the actual tickets.

Update

I just had my interview yeterday and they approved our case. The only thing is the officer said they didn't receive the name check results from the FBI yet so once they get them they will send us a letter to submit my passport for GC stamp.

My question is, is this normal? how long would it take to get the name check results? anybody going through the same thing?

Thanks,

Oh and I forgot to mention that the officer took my picture and my finger prints (only the index fingers) after the interview was done. She also gave us a piece of paper saying that your case have been approved and you will be granted conditional green card for 2 years. She made us sign on it and she signed on it herself and kept herself a copy.

Congrats Basharaj ! Sorry to hear for the name check pending, but if you look through this forum, you'll see a lot of people who are in the same situation and you can read their experiences.
Good luck to you !

Ema.
