Guys and Gals

After 11 years in this country (F1 + h1 + approved I-140 status), Finally I have my so called greencard, which surprisingly(synonymous to american football) rather pinkish, is IN MY HAND. Here are my details: I got my approval in aug of 2001. Finger prints in March 2002, Stamping on Aug 14th 2002 (at newark, NJ). Green Card on Sep 16th 2002. My wife's details are the same.

I am very happy, my wife is ecstatic. Thanks to the forums, I gathered lot of info from here.

So..do U think, it is a big deal.....

Do U think, it will make a great change to the way U live,...

Guys,
For those who wanted to know, how my life is post green card.
At one point I thought I would never see the card in my hand (those were the days when labor clearance would take 3-4 years), then somehow quickly my I-140 was approved and and I still did not think it was going to happen, because my time (6years on H1) was getting shorter by the day.
Because of this I always had a pessimistic attitude, may a way to ensure that I would not
be crushed when it becomes a reality that I did not get a green card. Suddenly things changed and
INS said "people with approved I-140 can stay back, even after thier 6 years of H1). Then my hopes
slowly started blooming. The reason why I am boring you with all the details is to just trying to picture my psychological state
and emotional roller coaster that I endured, for you.

But finally the day the card came in to my hand, my mind was kind of "insensitive" to that pleasure,
infact my wife kept asking me "Why are you not happy?' I sat down and thought about it, it is not like I am not happy about it
but somehow I am unable to express it.

One thing is for sure, even if I lose my job now, I will not have to worry about
being out of status, I probably can get some assistance from Govt., and I can work for
any body in capacity in any field. This gives a little bit of peace of mind. But unfortunately by the time
I got my card the economy cooled down so much, that I can not really use this privileges
I have now.

I am a complex person and my thinking is different. I hope and request you guys will completely
enjoy your moment of truth. All the best to you guys in advance.
