Green Card, I-140, I-485, Layoff

This is for all the Guru out there; Please Help,

My I-140 and I-485 are pending. It will be six months on 3/23/2003. My company placed me on temporary layoff till 3/6/2003; But now I have word from inside that they are not going to be able to hire till 9/2003.

What will hapen to the Green Card at this point ? What steps should I take ?

u better speak to some attorney. it looks complicated. I wonder what do u mean by temp-layoff. does it mean still they hold your H1 and you are not on pay roll.

if they hold your H1 and if you are able to provide W2 with previled wage, i think you will be fine. this is my guess. try to speak to good attorney.

You still have a valid job offer but the problem is the position is not immediately available. The GC is for a future position. I think you are still ok at this point but if INS approves the application or sends an RFE you could have a problem.
