Green card for mom.

Hey everyone. I (US Citizen) am applying for a green card for my mom (living in India with my brother). The guy who is helping my brother apply for a tourist visa is telling us that a green card for my mom will be denied unless she has a current visa and has visited the US, 2 or 3 times and urging my brother to apply for a visa for her first. I am not seeing anyting like this in the USCIS website. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

No such requirement. I would be very wary of anything else this guy is telling you (by the way, a tourist visa is usually denied for people also seeking immigrant visas, so it seems this guy is just looking to make I presume extra fees he is charging for this “help”). Why doesn’t your brother just apply on his own for a tourist visa like most people do?

He came recommended via a friend of my brother's. The guy is charging 45000 rupees per visa (which includes the filing fees) plus extra for bribes (very common in inda) to push the visa forward apparently.

None of that explains why your brother needs to use him, in fact it sounds more like reasons not to use him. your brother will get the visa, or not, on his own merits. If this person is planning to falsify anything in the application on the basis it is more likely to get your brother approved, understand he can be setting up your brother for a permanent visa ban if they find false information. US visa appointments are scheduled online. There is nowhere in the process this person has any scope to “push the visa forward”.

I’m also sure the US consulate would be interested to know about any alleged bribes in the visa process. Probably all goes into this person ‘s pocket.

Hi everyone, I am planning to file GC for my mom who is living in India. She don't have birth certificate but educational certificate that shows DOB. Also she is widow and do we need marriage certificate? Please let me know If mother DOB and MC is required for filing GC. Appreciate your help.
