Green Card Extension

I received my 24 month extension (for my 2 year green card) letter a while back. It expires in April 2023. I have just submitted my N-400 document with a 14.5 month wait.

The question is, can my green card be extended at this point again because there will be a 7-8 month over lap where my green card is not valid.

What should I do?

First, you remain a conditional permanent resident for as long as the Removal of Conditions is pending, no matter how many years it takes. Your Removal of Conditions will probably be approved before the end of the 24 months, but if it isn't, you will still be a permanent resident; you just won't have proof of it. If you want to have proof of permanent residency at that point (which is a good idea), you can get an appointment at your USCIS office to get an I-551 stamp; but if you don't, again, you remain a permanent resident. Your I-751 must be approved before your N-400 can be approved.

If you are still within the 24-month extension period, you can file for another extension. However, if your green card has already expired, you will need to file for a new one.

That makes no sense. There is no such thing as "another extension". The I-751 receipt, in combination with the expired green card, doubles as proof of permanent residency in combination for 24 months after the green card expires, but it is proof only. Your remain in status while the I-751 is pending without time limit, and you can get proof (or not) of your status at any time if you are in status.
