Hi - I came to the US two years ago on a H1B, which will expire next summer. My wife has a Green Card for 5 years and applied for US Citizenship this spring. She filed all the paperwork and had her fingerprints taken and her interview. In the meantime we got married. Now we are waiting for her background check to be completed. Is there a possibility to check her status? How long will this take? What will my situation be afterwards? Can I apply for a Green Card immediately and will get a temporary Green Card and will lose my H1B? Thanks for your help.
