Green Card Applications - Best & Fastest States

Hi,

In applying for a green card which is the best state to apply from i.e. the quickest processing time. Also, does your company have to be located in that state or does your residence have to be there for instance if you are a consultant based out of New York but live in Pennsylvania, which state do you come under?

Your place of residence is not that important. Company needs to have office/branch and valid job offer at that location
 
Isnt the first link applicable to H1-B applications. I am concerned about which state(s) are known to be the fastest at completing green card proceedings.
 
No that link is for the first stage of the GC process (LC)

Go here and see which state does the fastest I140 & 485 add to that the data you have from the link above, and you can figure out which are the faster states, but remember past performance need not reflect a standard for future processing.

Also note that 485 processing is not necessarily as bad as the times shown in the link above, it is just the date for which the earliest application is still pending (usually the same with any other application, but with 485, the window can be quite wide).
