Green card activation

Hello everybody

I have my final green card interview on 11th Sept and I need to travel for business to the US shortly after that for a week. Can I NOT have my green card activated (and use my still valid Visa Waiver program instead) when I enter the US first time? I want to move in (and activate the GC) within several months after that. I will fly in to the US from Europe.

The reason is the GC will not probably get delivered within a week I'll stay there and I don't have anyone to send this GC to at this point.

Unfortunately not. The VWP is for people to travel to the USA without a visa, but since you do have a visa, it will be the basis for your admission into the USA.

The reason is the GC will not probably get delivered within a week I'll stay there and I don't have anyone to send this GC to at this point.

You could open a virtual PO box and have it delivered there, and then couriered to you anywhere in the world - that's what I did. I used USABox but there any many others.
